Practice for Hong Kong in Chinatown - October 17, 2017 At dismissal at the end of the day on Tuesday, our five student travelers, Mr. Sager, Mr. Geary and I traveled into Chinatown to get to know each other, experience some smells and sounds of a Chinese cultural area, and sample some local cuisine. We met up with a tour guide that Mr. Geary connected us with named Jamie Shanker.  While her full time job is as a lawyer for a not-for-profit in Philadelphia, she also enjoys giving tours of Chinatown because she enjoys the food and sharing her knowledge with others who want to learn. Background Information on our Trip to Hong Kong

Background to the Creation of our Trip to Hong Kong - for over a year, Hill Top students, who are interested have enrolled during the school year and the summer sessions at BSD Academy.  A private academy to teach coding, robotics, web design and cutting edge technology.  When we first met with the staff at BSD and its CEO, we learned that they actually began in Hong Kong by Chris Geary.  Learning that Chris and I shared common knowledge of several of the private schools in Hong Kong, it was proposed that Hill Top and BSD could work with a small group of HTPS students who were the first to begin in the first partnership classes at BSD to organize a trip to Hong Kong for the purpose of students seeing the international nature of technology.  As we talked more it quickly began to grow from a simple tourist trip to Hong Kong and some classes in BSD Academy Hong Kong to now include all of that plus a day long trip across the border into Mainland China to meet with expats from other countri
